The Vacation Church School of Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ is a certified program that operates during the summer months when schools are closed to most students. We begin a six-week program some forty years ago when children in the community needed a safe non-threatening environment during the day when they otherwise would be unsupervised.

Our mission is to serve God by serving and assisting the little children. We encourage good citizenship in all phases of their lives. Our aim is to have their education ongoing in a fun way during the summer.

Our program includes the following: breakfast and lunch, Bible study, weekly trips, movies, reinforcement of skills taught in school, swimming, recreation, arts and crafts, career week and anti-drugs, guns and bullying discussions.

We accept children from three years to middle school. They must have immunization records and a nominal registration fee.

The school will operate from June 27, 2011 to July 29, 2011. The hours of operation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The church school director is Mrs. Betty Gordon; the assistant director is Mrs. Clementine Toppins.
