Teresa
Williams is the daughter of Mary and Roy Richardson. She was first introduced to
Morning Star by her grandmother, Lucille Richardson and aunt, Delores Allison
who were faithful members of Morning Star until their deaths. Around age ten,
she was baptized by Rev. Dr. Samuel Ray. Teresa became a member of the Junior
Usher board at age 21 and at age 30 she moved to the Senior Usher board where
she is now a diligent worker. She currently serves as the secretary and can
always be counted on to be on her post with a smile and willing to do whatever
is needed.
Teresa is a graduate of Western High School, the oldest public all-girl high school in the United States. On February 6, 1988 she married her wonderful and devoted husband and became the mother to 3 stepsons: Antonio, Ditanyun and Donnell Williams. She is the proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren: Alinaijia, Kya and Donnell Jr.
Teresa loves being active; she enjoys line dancing as a way of exercising and she also loves bowling. She is an avid reader who enjoys reading the Bible and her Kindle book. She cherishes the yearly ski trips she shares with her husband Billy. When it is time to just relax during the course of life, she spends time on the computer chatting with friends, keeping up on current events, and just finding out what is going on in the world. It is on the computer that Teresa is able to keep in contact with those that she does not see and talk with often, but no less are endeared to.
A kind, generous person, who loves people; she really loves talking to older people and listening to them talk about their past. She loves helping people in general, whenever or whatever you ask; Teresa is always there to lend a helping hand.
Teresa's favorite hymn is "I Want to Be A Christian"; she says that "It lets me know that if I'm a Christian in my heart then it'll show in my walk, my talk my everything and I will not have to tell people that I'm a child of God, they'll know by my actions." Her favorite scripture is James 2:20 "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" To her this scripture "Lets me know that just because you have "faith" you must also serve and work in your ministry, doing nothing but just believing is not enough."
To know Teresa is to know a person who loves life and loves God. You can see her love for God in her everyday life. Her captivating smile draws you in, then she laughs and you are hooked on that infectious laughter for life. She is a blessing to all who comes in contact with her. Teresa is a bright and shining star at "The Star."
